Udabno Solar PV

The first NEXT Energy plant to reach commercial operation, and the reference project for everything behind it. Construction began in May 2026 and is substantially complete; the plant is in the grid-works and commissioning window.

Iliatsminda Solar PV

The largest project in the near-term programme, and the one that sets the resourcing plan for 2027. It runs to the same schedule as Kutaisi Solar, so procurement, mobilisation and supervision are planned as a single 2027 campaign rather than two independent sites.

Co-located with Kutaisi Wind. The two plants sit behind one 110/35 kV connection carrying 26 MW in total, which means one set of grid works, one mobilisation and one commissioning sequence rather than two.

Kutaisi Wind

Onshore wind, co-located with Kutaisi Solar behind the shared connection. Turbine erection is a different discipline from PV — crane pads, heavy-lift access and a weather-dependent lift window — and the supervision plan is scoped separately.

One connection, two plants

Kutaisi Solar and Kutaisi Wind sit behind a single 110/35 kV connection: 27.75 MW installed — 5.25 MWp of modules and 22.5 MW of turbine — exporting through 26 MW AC. Grid capacity is the scarce input in Georgian development, and a connection carrying both wind and solar runs at a higher load factor than either would alone.

For a construction manager it means one mobilisation, one set of civil and electrical works, one energisation sequence with GSE and one commissioning campaign — but two different disciplines on the same site at the same time, which is a supervision problem worth planning for rather than discovering.
